The Harbour/Downalong

Midships is situated in a prime position directly on the Wharf. The bustling Harbour is home to many fishing boats that bring in quality catches of local fish that you will find in many of the restaurants. St Ives is an ancient fishing town and the old fishing quarters around the Harbour, is the older and more attractive part of St Ives, is known as Downalong.

The Downalong area is the heart and soul of St Ives with its picturesqe Harbour and abundance of fisherman's cottages lining the maze of cobbled streets and it's close proximity to 3 of the main beaches (Harbour beach, Porthgwidden and Porthmeor).
